Significance
The Great Mosque of Algiers, located in the historic Kasbah area of the city, and close to the Algiers Harbor, The mosque dated back to 1097, with the minaret constructed 1330s, and the interior court on the outside of the mosque built in 1940. It is one of the significant example of the Almoravid architecture in the country, and it is counted as one of the oldest mosques in the country.
