Significance
The mosque is constructed over the tomb of the great Sufi scientist of the 14th century Seid Abdulla Bakuyi. The tomb was a place of pilgrimage and was named after its discovery as Taza Pir (the New Pir). The present mosque is built by the order of Nabat Khanum Ashurbeyli who is herself burried in the mosque.

State of Preservation
In 1944, the restoration of the Taza Pir Mosque began to start its activities. In 2005 the reconstruction project was prepared to restore the mosque and surrounding areas. On July 6, 2009, the renovation and construction works were ended
