Significance
It is located in the lower courtyard of Shirvanshah Palace and was constructed upon the order of Shirvanshah Khalilullah in 1441. The mosque consists of a hall, a prayer room for women at the right side of the entrance proch and two smaller rooms at the back part. The minaret of the mosque is beautiful and harmonuious with its surroundings. The stone handrails of balcony (sherefe) and mihrab ornaments were decorated with turquoise colored bricks, which are not existing today.

State of Preservation
There have been some minor changes in the preservation state of the Shah Mosque since it was built. The glazed decorative tiles of the minaret balcony and mihrab are mising today. Also, the balcony of the minaret had originally been constructed of stone, but in 1723 a shell destroyed part of the minaret. Later in 20th century, the small balcony was reconstructed from iron.
