Significance
Madrasa Al-Sultaniyah is a complex consisting of religious, educational, and funerary facts. The monument which stands below the Citadel of Aleppo was completed in 1223. The construction of the building started by Malik al-Zaher and finished by his son al-Aziz in 1225. The tomb of sultan Malik al-Zaher stands inside the monument.

State of Preservation
The madrasa was completely destroyed except for remains on the northern side of the courtyard and the minaret, though they are also heavily ruined.
