Significance
An ancient mosque dating back to the era of the Ottoman Empire in Palestine, and is located on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, specifically in the Mina neighbourhood. It is considered one of the few Islamic and Arab architectural monuments in the city, after the Israeli occupation demolished the city’s entire landmarks. It was founded and built during the nineteenth century by Hossein Pasha, an Ottoman minister.

State of Preservation
It was restored in 1414 AH / 1995 CE by the Al-Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage. On November 29, 2012, the Turkish Association “Mirasımız”, in cooperation with the Al-Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage, began the work of the second phase of the mosque’s restoration and maintenance.
