Significance
When Aghdam became an important trade center in the 19th century, a Friday mosque was erected by the leading architect of the period, Kerbalayi Sefi Khan. The mosque has a traditional four columned square plan and is adorned with two beautiful minarets.

State of Preservation
The mosque has been damaged, its exterior roof covering is missing and the stone claddings on the exterior façade are damaged, which was occupied by armed forces of Armenia in 1993, had been utilized as a stall for animals. Currently, the Aghdam Juma mosque has been transformed by the Armenian side into military headquarter.
