Significance
The Ameeria School was founded in 1356 AH (1937 AD) in the city of Hofuf, as a response to the wishes of Hofuf’s people and those of villages around it to establish a center of education. The area of Al-Ahsa in Hofuf has always been famous in the Arabian Peninsula as a place to seek knowledge. The Ameeria School became a reality once it had the support of the Saudi state, serving the villages of Al-Ahsa, and later being
known as the first school in Hofuf.Al Amiriya School was established in Al Ahsa in the year 1359 hijri (1940). It was initially a primary school for boys and then it was changed for teaching intermediate and secondary education. Its area reached about 1.200sqm. It was the first government school building in Al Ahsa during the Saudi era.
An old school, with an old urban character, that reflects the pattern of the urban heritage of Al-Ahsa. It has been recently restored, and there is a study proposed by the Supreme Commission for Tourism to make the site a school for craftsmen.
