Significance
The mosque is a spectacular example of classical Ottoman architecture in Yemen with its grand large size and detailed ornamentation.

State of Preservation
A large-scale restoration project was held in 1872, during the second Ottoman conquest. In the passing years, preservation facilities continued and now the mosque is in a good condition.
