Significance
Laid out by the founder of the Mughal dynasty, Muhammad Zahir al-Din Babur, this 11 hectare terraced garden contains his grave, Queen’s Palace and a mosque along with a caravanserai and burial terraces on the extensions.

State of Preservation
The site has been restored under the Historic Cities Support Programme between 2003-2005. Since the building dates back to the past years, it has suffered various kinds of destruction. Many measures have been taken to prevent these demolitions. UNESCO has protected this structure and added it to the list of World cultural heritage.
