Significance
The complex of Qala-i Beni Hammad, spread over 7 km, includes a lot of remains like the Great Mosque which is one of the largest in Algeria, palace buildings.

State of Preservation
Qalat Beni Hammad’s 150-hectare area was adopted in 1980 as a Unesco World Heritage Center. It is open to decomposition and erosion. Therefore, this structure faces some problems. Although open to the public today, it is usually visited by only a few thousand tourists per year.
