iv. to be an outstanding example of a type of building, architectural or technological ensemble, or landscape that illustrates (a) significant stage(s) in human history
v. to be an outstanding example of a traditional human settlement, land-use, or sea-use which is representative of a culture (or cultures), or human interaction with the environment especially when it has become vulnerable under the impact of irreversible change
State of Preservation
The New Funduq was originally built as a khan building for travelers and merchants. However, it was used to store grain later in its history, and it was used as an office for weighing coal in the 17th century. Hence, there were some adaptations and interventions applied to the building along with its different functions but today it is well preserved.
