Significance
The Huashi Mosque has a long history, more than 500 years. The mosque is known first to have been built in 1415, during the beginning period of the Ming Dynasty. Huashi Mosque is significant as being one of the most famous mosques in Beijing. It has gone under several repairs and expansions. The original design of the complex was composing of a main worship hall, the Stele Pavilion, the Jingu (respecting the ancient celebrities) Hall, Xunyue Platform (moon observing, minaret), the Sermon Room and some bedrooms for guests. The Xunyue Platform has been ruined and the largest structure is the main worship hall. The complex faces the east and covers an area of 500m2.

State of Preservation
Although the mosque was first built in 1415, it has gone under many renovations resulting with many changes in details. It has been listed as one of the culture protection unit in Chongwen District in 1984.
