Significance
Jabrin Castle was built by Imam Bilarab during the Ya’aruba dynasty in 1675. The Castle was restored in 1983 by Enrico D’Errico. Instead of military purposes it served as a summer residence and a centre of Islamic law, medicine and astrology studies. It is rectangular in plan and there are two circular towers at the north and south corners. The monument is divided into two parts; both with inner courtyards. The castle is known for its painted ceilings and carved verses from the Koran.
