Significance
Kalyan Mosque is the great Friday mosque of Bukhara, constructed at the city center (Registan). Its name “Kalyan” means “the great”, as it has a monumental façade and dominates the city center.

State of Preservation
The mosque is in a fine state of preservation. In the recent years, the façades were cleaned from dirt and dust. The columns of the gallery were reinforced on their bases. Also, the preservation of the interior furnishings of the mosque were carried out.
