Significance
Masjid Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani is located in the borders of Hulhumalé Island, connected to Malé in Maldives. It stands at the end of housing rows. The mosque is the only mosque on the island and is a contemporary architectural monument. The mosque is notable with its greatly huge, golden dome. The huge dome is supported by trusses. Inside the floors are covered by granite covering and there are numerous of fans for ventilation. The unique minaret is also capped by a golden dome, carrying the same characteristics with the main dome. With its spherical geometry, Mosque is one of the attractive places in Maldives.
